This is important to get out there right now especially for those who are just confused about the ACA (Affordable healthcare act = Obamacare)….this is NOT meant for those who just foster LIES about it that that have heard from some insane third party, T party, or Corporate funded Right wing (and some Left wing) nuts… Politifact.com. is a Pulitzer prize winning source.. and does help to sort out some things.. I hope this helps.. those who already believe that lies and aren’t going to even consider the Act… forget them they are lost in a world more confusing than the ‘Once Upon a Time’ tv series.16 MYTHS
“.,…widespread American gun ownership is fueling America’s gun violence epidemic.”….
which confirms for me, as I have been saying with 50 % of Americans having guns…. we have an out of control ‘gun culture’…..there are many concerns involved in this , not just closing gun loopholes for sales, and Mental help… for those who ‘hear voices’… there are so many variables.. I understand why some can say, that we ‘need a gun’ to protect ourselves from guns.. but in the end, the most reliable and recent studies who this just doesn’t do the ‘trick’. and ‘more guns means more gun violence’…. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/09/13/2617131/largest-gun-study-guns-murder/
Nugent’s brother , a gun owner and pro 2nd amendment (who isn’t?)…says this and worth repeating…
“The NRA has it wrong: Irresponsible gun owners are bad for everyone. If you shouldn’t have access to a gun, then there should be no way for you to access a gun!”
I have been arguing, or saying this for ages… since I have a family member who in NY at least, is not allowed guns due to mental illness… We need some kind of background checks and a reasonable database for those gun owners or prospective gun buyers… This has nothing to do with denying people’s Constitutional rights… but i know I will get some flack about this, but I stand ‘my ground’… hmmmm on this one.. 🙂
A message to all my friends… I am starting with my counselor this week (I have been in regular counseling since my days after 9/11 in NYC back in early 2002- it was offered free for awhile to those who worked below Midtown in NY)
As I said earlier, I will be ‘volunteering’ myself around the neighborhood on Wednesday, and mostly taking off from FB… I will post my story and some pictures (in a slide presentation) that day… as I do almost every year. I wrote up my ‘events’ of what happened that day around late Oct. 2011 to get my friends/relatives off my back about retelling it so many times.. It ended up on the Smithsonian 9/11 Memorial site as on of thousands of stories… I will repost this Wednesday with the story and slide presentation.. The pictures are my own,, now copyrighted…Peace to you all, and may be avoid war with Syria…Mr President,, we have a short window to talk to Iran… why don’t you do that with the Russians etc… and see what happens… Miracles can occur!!!
I got so involved I forgot to finish that I am working through my PTSD with my counselor that I still suffer from 9/11… someone diagnosed me with this years ago… something I had been avoiding.. now I am dealing with it

MONDAY, LABOR DAY, SEPTEMBER
some thoughts I have posted originally on my Facebook page, re, the false use of the ‘Don’t tread on Me’, phrase and the so called, Gadsden or Rattlesnake flag.
The timber rattlesnake and eastern diamondback rattlesnake both populate the geographical areas of the original thirteen colonies. Their use as a symbol of the American colonies can be traced back to the publications of Benjamin Franklin. In 1751, he made the first reference to the rattlesnake in a satirical commentary published in his Pennsylvania Gazette. It had been the policy of Britain to send convicted criminals to America, so Franklin suggested that they thank the British by sending rattlesnakes to England.
Benjamin Franklin’s “Join, or Die” cartoon
In 1754, during the French and Indian War, Franklin published his famous woodcut of a snake cut into eight sections. It represented the colonies, with New England joined together as the head and South Carolina as the tail, following their order along the coast. Under the snake was the message “Join, or Die“. This was the first political cartoon published in an American newspaper.]
SEPTEMBER 2, 2013
On this 9/11 I am going to go out with plastic bags and just pick up the garbage that people mindlessly throw out of their cars etc… I have to do something… i may produce a flyer to leave off at the town Hall, down the road, and post around… I am going to try to get my ‘activist’ (MoveOn members ,etc.) to also act..
Usually i start getting more depressed and having ‘anxiety’ and nightmares and more around this time of year due to my PTSD from that experience.. I don’t want to dwell on that. I ‘ll do that the day before through my counselor… I want to promote this idea and hope that others will do the same. I am going to post this in some of my groups here as well.
