AH ha,,, we got Dem dirty bastards and their Chemware… WE just love to (BOMB BOMB BOMB !!!!), who cares about the FACTS

The Spoils of War………

IN EVERY TYPE of government, nothing unites people behind the leader more quickly, reflexively or reliably than war. Donald Trump now sees how true that is, as the same establishment leaders in U.S. politics and media who have spent months denouncing him as a mentally unstable and inept authoritarian and unprecedented threat to democracy are standing and applauding him as he launches bombs at Syrian government targets.

Trump, on Thursday night, ordered an attack that the Pentagon said included the launching of 59 Tomahawk missiles which “targeted aircraft, hardened aircraft shelters, petroleum and logistical storage, ammunition supply bunkers, air defense systems, and radars.” The governor of Homs, the Syrian province where the attack occurred, said early this morning that the bombs killed seven civilians and wounded nine.

The Pentagon’s statement said the attack was “in retaliation for the regime of Bashar Assad using nerve agents to attack his own people.” Both Syria and Russia vehemently deny that the Syrian military used chemical weapons.

When asked about this yesterday by the Globe and Mail’s Joanna Slater, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged an investigation to determine what actually happened before any action was contemplated, citing what he called “continuing questions about who is responsible”:

But U.S. war fever waits for nothing. Once the tidal wave of American war frenzy is unleashed, questioning the casus belli is impermissible. Wanting conclusive evidence before bombing commences is vilified as sympathy with and support for the foreign villain (the same way that asking for evidence of claims against Russia instantly converts one into a “Kremlin agent” or “stooge”).

That the Syrian government deliberately used chemical weapons to bomb civilians became absolute truth in U.S. discourse within less than 24 hours – even though Trudeau urged an investigation, even though it was denied in multiple capitals around the world, and even though Susan Rice just two months ago boasted to NPR: “We were able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile.”

Whatever happened with this event, the Syrian government has killed hundreds of thousands of people over the past five years in what began as a citizen uprising in the spirit of the Arab Spring, and then morphed into a complex proxy war involving foreign fighters, multiple regional powers, ISIS, Al Qaeda, and Russia.

The CIA has spent more than a billion dollars a year to arm anti-Assad rebels for years, and the U.S. began bombing Syria in 2014 – the 7th predominantly Muslim country bombed by Obama – and never stopped. Trump had already escalated that bombing campaign, culminating in a strike last month that Syrians say destroyed a mosque and killed dozens. What makes this latest attack new is that rather than allegedly targeting terrorist sites of ISIS and Al Qaeda, it targets the Syrian government – something Obama threatened to do in 2013 but never did.

Leading Congressional Democrats – including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi – quickly praised Trump’s bombing while raising concerns about process. Hours before the bombing commenced, as it was known Trump was planning it, Hillary Clinton – who has been critical of Obama for years for not attacking Assad – appeared at an event and offered her categorical support for what Trump was planning:

The Trump White House is preliminarily indicating that this was a limited strike, designed to punish Assad for his use of chemical weapons, rather than a new war to remove him. But such aggression, once unleashed, is often difficult to contain. The Russian and Iranian governments, both supportive of Assad, have bitterly denounced Trump for the attack, with a Putin spokesman calling it a “significant blow” for U.S.-Russian relations. Russia already announced retaliation in the form of suspending cooperation agreements.

Even if it is contained, there are endless implications from Trump’s initiation of military force against the Syrian Government. For now, here are ten critical points highlighted by all of this:

The World of 1984 looms upon us

George Orwell’s  1984, is now rising on library bookshelves… Google searches are increasing…some people seem to be concerned. Sinclair Lewis’s 1930’s warning of a ‘Leader’ such as Trump in ‘It Can’t happen here”…is now being quoted, posted all over now….is someone trying to tell us something? while the new ‘Tweet’ President runs the nation by Tweets and Presidential ‘decrees’…(executive orders, legal but when is Enough?)..

“Lock her up,” “Trump that bitch,” “Build a wall,” overheard at a Trump Rally.

“A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one’s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic,” George Orwell on mass hate. – “

“From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first, America first,” Donald Trump on America.

“There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party,” George Orwell on loyalty.”

Six quotes that show 2017 is already George Orwell’s 1984

George Orwell’s 1984 is most popular selling book on Amazon but there was already dystopia in 2017.

A year that WAS , and a year that WASN’T

I’m trying not to call names at this point, on all Social Media.. .does no good….in the long run… i have a split family, half or more of whom supported and /or voted for Mr. Trump…and just understanding that without considering half of my family ‘deplorables’ or some such…to think that some people who agreed with Mr Trump..when he called them ‘uneducated’…a joke to him? would defeat my purpose to just reply and call him, a ‘joke’.. he may well be,… what he is definitely, (supported by psychiatrists and my own psychologist) is a NARCISISIST, WITH PATHOLOGICAL TENDENCIES… others have added more to that.. but firstly, we must deal with this. Have we possibly had other Presidents, Vice Presidents, with similar traits? yes. But, I just heard Bernie Sanders again on Democracy Now, for an hour.. the One person I believe could have won this past election, had he been the Democratic Nominee.. There are many things i would say, we need to do and i only have ‘hopes’ at this point, having working hard this past year for the Sanders campaign and other progressives in my area… We need to follow, along with other things, as much as we agree with, the Bernie Sanders, ‘Our Revolution’ principles, other progressive groups, e.g. Citizen Action (of the Hudson Valley and others), MOveOn.org , Working Families party, and yes, the Green party for those who lean that way… But, we must work to include ALL valid candidates for the Presidency, and local progressives and progressive causes…

Two things upon my mind and the most important to me… One which I believe even Bernie Sanders (who took it seriously), is the possible ‘Near term Human Extinction’. due to Climate change, and possible extinction of many millions of species and ourselves? (I don’t trust any of the signatories of COP/Paris this past year)..and , Two, secondly, as far as we can enforce, is to fight, for the current, moment, our Constitutional, and Civil rights, in the Bill of Rights.. we have already lost SO many Rights, and are losing, seriously, our Free

March Of Triumph

THOUGHTS ON A SUNDAY MORNING, (and it ain’t the CBS Sunday Morning).

First Sunday, weekend  after Trump’s election as President (of all the people?).

Trump talks of the ‘forgotten people’ but who does he mean by ‘forgotten’…?Are the Native Americans forgotten?, are the Latinos, and various Island immigrants forgotten… LGBTQ (myself included), religious  minorities, including Jews and Muslims, Sikhs, the ‘brown’ (all non white peoples) who have always been ‘less than’ in equality in all sections of our nation, socially, and economically.

Not least of all,  African  Americans, who have the second most unique place in American history, (after the Indigenous tribes and ‘nations’) and are inescapably intertwined in our history, including the worst War in our history, which we seem to be closer to  enacting than ever before in our history, the Civil War. What will we do, if all of the ‘other’ FORGOTTEN people’s are suddenly suspect, mass arrests, as seems to already have happened under the current administration, facing increased persecution of ‘our’ liberties;  free speech,  ‘Right of the People peaceably to assemble’, freedom of Religion, and all the rest of the First Amendment , et.al.

To deny what I have posted above is a certain American Hubris, or just outright ‘denial’ by those not only in power, but those who voted for Mr. Trump out of some sense of unknown ‘entitlement’ or being ‘wronged’ somehow.  I understand the anger, the lost jobs, the feeling that this nation is not what it used to be, but to turn to the oft chime of  thinking we need a ‘strong’ leader?  but, is that always the answer?

Already there have been terrible incidences of seeming ‘white hate’ against Muslim, Black, LGBTQ students in schools nationwide, racial message painted on Black churches and such. Will this increase? Will it become like the early days of Mussolini’s ‘black shirts’, or worse, Hitler’s SS?  This is not some Hollywood movie, or daydreaming on my part; it already seems like it could begin in many parts of our nation. [“Reports of hate crimes and intimidation of American Muslims and other minority groups have increased in the days since Donald Trump’s shock election victory on the back of the most xenophobic campaign in modern US history .” –http://www.thenational.ae/world/americas/hate-crime-and-islamophobia-increases-after-trump-victory%5D

So, where do we go? To whom do we turn? Our Constitution, already well ‘shredded’ during the Clinton and Bush II, and Obama administrations?   During the first decades after WW II, we taxed the rich or richer, at 80 to 90 %, we had a nation where for the first time, War veterans could easily afford college, could easily afford a home on a single family income.  All that was slowly destroyed, from the Reagan backlash aministration, through all those that followed, yes, even the Democrats.  We seem to all want the equality of income of that era ,where the CEO’

S of companies made, perhaps, 30-40 times the common worker but not HUNDREDS of times the common worker. This is why Bernie Sanders offered real solutions, and seemingly Mr Trump, seems to have promised the same, if that’s what he meant by ‘Great again’?

We, on the sidelines that, whether we voted for Democrats, Independents, Green Party (my own choice, not supporting either ‘corrupt, Corporation owned ‘parties’), Libertarians, or other, await what’s to come. Some with renewed fear, some with expectations, some not knowing what is to come, and those who voted for Mr. Trump, I imagine, await the Great promises he made. Can he bring this to them? Will he work within the confines of our Laws, and Constitution? Or will he, as some fear, be the ‘loose cannon’ or ‘free speaker’ of the recent Campaign season, most of which was reprehensible in its Inhumanity, to more than half the Nation.   The Independents or ‘non voters’ of this recent Election, are about 1/3 or more.  Less citizens voted in both ‘parties’ than in the last Presidential election (stats provided upon request), and both candidates were the most ‘unpopular’ in our election history, in most polls.  (“..with registered voters, the two are basically tied: Clinton has 59% unfavorability and Trump has 60%.” – http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/08/31/poll-clinton-trump-most-unfavorable-candidates-ever/89644296/).

Not to go on forever in this strain, I will however, continue to blog and write as things occur through this new administration, on its actions, the populace’s reactions and much more.

I am just one voice in millions wondering the same, this first week, after a trying, tiring, exhausting, election for everyone concerned.  Peace and hope to you all, including everyone who may read this.

Is TrumpIsm, Fascism, indeed !

Right wing, left Wing, NO wing…This year has gone down and will go down in history (if history and th 4th estate actually still exist after this year)…as one of the most dangerous, scary, CORRUPT, and just plain out outrageous. in my lifetime (64 years, give or take) … ITS COME TOO CLOSE TO HOME FOR ME. . I  have several family members, and really close and beloved ones, seem to find it easy to ‘blame the other’, and may not even know that the Trump rhetoric of this past year or so has swayed them… or has it? I believe it (that ‘fear of the other’ blame game), has ALWAYS been with him. I come from a very Conservative family line… my grandfather, it was rumored, ‘let’ the KKK, or some semblance of it use his property to hold their meetings.. This year has seen several close family members come all out for Trump…They are mad and angry, as I myself am, only, i early on, knew that only Bernie Sanders progressives like him, had the real answer to this underlying anger and madness.
I BELIEVE I MUST HAVE BEEN PUT HERE TO COUNTERACT THAT ‘WING’ OF THE FAMILY, WHICH I HAVE TRIED TO DO WITHOUT TOTAL ALL OUT WARFARE. LOL
The article goes on with.
“Is the U.S.A. Ready for Fascism?

trumpismThere are forces which could coalesce into a fascist movement under the right circumstances. The Trump campaign has revealed the existence of such forces as an overripe piece of fruit, once cracked open, reveals its maggots. But it is not yet a cohered fascist party. Its leader, Trump, is happy to get support from the alt right. Their worked-out ideology is consistent with many of his prejudices, but he himself does not have an developed ideology. While he likes the adulation of the crowds, he does not have the organizing skills to pull together a real fascist party, nor does he have the interest.”

A few words about this day….9_11_16

RED IS THE COLOR OF BLOOD… (UNLESS YOU’RE A FANTASY VULCAN, THEN ITS GREEN)….HOW MUCH BLOOD WAS REALLY SACRIFICED ON 9_11?

MY OWN THOUGHTS ARE COVERED IN MY SMITHSONIAN DIGITAL ARCHIVE….(SEE BELOW)….

Just from a personal point of view…. from my 9_11 story – I ended it with these words……”This event will forever be impressed upon my mind and I can only think of two other events which will have such significance; the day President Kennedy was shot and my own father?s death when I was eight years old in December of 1960.
….”
obviously, with just about everyone reading this ….they can say something similar….I cannot help but every year.. post some of these pictures… talk about my story [available on the 9_11 digital archive at “http://911digitalarchive.org/items/show/6688”%5D , should you be interested in reading it.. I find that each year, seemingly, to me, less and less people respond to this ….I cannot.. I have PTSD diagnosed in NYC a couple months after the event.. I still am processing this.. still in counseling and still ‘getting through’…..I’ll be ok, not without a lot of crying, anxiety and more.. but, as with anyone with PTSD…and you may know someone suffering with this, we cope.. or not… I’m coping after about 5 different psychiatrists and just as many or more counselors…
Just a bit of personal history…..when you hear of veterans or anyone with this.. don’t write it off, as just ’emotional’ etc… its much worse, its real, its what we have to live with.. always open to sharing more,, just ask..PEACE, BROTHERS, SISTERS….COMRADES ..[ a Trump supporter, whose a friend of a friend of mine, sort of, called me  SOCIALIST last night, before I was seeing Don Henley in concert at
Behtlelwoods.org… concert spage… (lawn seats, we’re always cheap seats!!!)
 – well, she called me that, so I ‘m taking it up and realizing, YES, I AM A SOCIALIST.. more and more you’ll hear that in the future (what’s left of it).]..LOVE TO YOU ALL
